Gadgets : Fighting Crime

Finger Prints

This kit is user friendly and advantageous when compared to the earlier versions. The fingerprints can be made visible easily without leaving behind excess of developing material, which normally interferes during comparison. In this kit, magnetic powders of different colours are used keeping in view the colour of the object on which the latent finger prints are present. This technique has a great advantage. It does not require use of any kind of brush to remove excess of powder. The price of the kit is Rs. 1375 and is supplied by M/s Sirchie FP Laboratories, Raleigh, USA, NC 27613, Fax 1-919-787-2952

One product garnering a lot of interest these days is Wherify Inc's new GPS Personal Locator for Children - a watch-like amulet worn on the wrist that can pinpoint a child's location in minutes through satellite-based GPS (Global Positioning System) technology built into the device.
