Paradox of Security

The great paradox of security has been that every one needs security but nobody would seem to be keen on achieving it, much less to work for the same. And, there is yet another category – those demanding security for self but not bothering about it at all in respect of others. In yet another scenario, there are many, being under various kinds of threats, requiring security but would not like any overt manifestation of security measures or precautions. This makes the job of security professionals tricky, if not ticklish. In a way, however, this is a blessing in disguise. Such situations often bring out the best in a security professional – his ingenuity, innovativeness and the ability to deliver the goods, at times at great personal inconvenience and in utter disregard of personal problems. Reward? Reward for what? If you have done it, you have just done your allotted job. But if you fail, you know what awaits you. At times, the judgment comes even peremptorily, that is, without even giving you the chance to explain. Is not that also a paradox? Who will judge?

Best regards,
Yours sincerely,
