Dear Mr. Nath,
this is to acknowledge receipt of the IISSM Newsletter.
Though I am not a "security person", I still find many aspects of the
newsletter very interesting reading, perhaps because security affects all of
us.
Also I am amazed that you are able to come up with such a fine newsletter on
a regular basis. It would be a pity if you allowed the lack of feedback to
put you into a state of despondency. Keep up the excellent work.

26 March 2004
Dear Dhanesh,
The March 2004 issue of the IISSM Newsletter is one of the best so far,
except that it would have been even better if one of the papers presented at
IISSM-2003 had been included for the benefit of those who had not got a copy
of the souvenir.
I cannot speak for others, but I definitely do not get bored when I go
through the monthly newsletter. It has become a valuable tool for security
professionals.
There was no reason for the apolegetic tone in introducing your book,
"Intelligence Imperatives for India". I am aware that you just did not
"happen to write" it, but had to do a lot of research and consultations with
fellow professionals. It would be very useful if more security professionals
also happen to write books like it.
With warm regards and best wishes,
Swami

Mr. Nath,
I understand your disappointment that the newsletter isn't receiving more of
a response. However, please press on. I have had some experience in this
area and came to understand that no matter how often or in what manner one
solicits the type of feedbak you do, it is often slow in coming. The
newsletter has become a very useful source of information and, as you expand
the items you include beyond Asia, it's international value will continue to
increase. I look forward to receiving your monthly notification that a new
one is available.
Best regards,

I am reading IISSM Newsletter regularly and it is creating interest to know
more about security and safety.

Dear Mr. Nath:
First, pls. allow me to congratulate you for having come out with your book
Intelligence Imperatives for India. Second, I would want to allay your fears
that the IISSM newsletter might be an "infliction" on silent readers like
me.
I quite enjoyed "The Cork and the Fish" in the Feb '04 issue of the
newsletter. The "story" is interesting, if only for the chain of thought it
sets off: 1. Are all "floaters" cork? 2. Is it in the destiny of all fish
never to reach the top? (It's only dead fish that float!) 3. Is reaching the
top to be coveted at all? 4. If only there were "cork-fish", a breed that
would both be on top as well as purposive!... and so on. Idle thoughts may
be, but interesting nonetheless. Actually, unlike cut and dried words,
symbols have this ability to open up avenues of thought. Perhaps, that's
what makes "The Cork and the Fish" so interesting.
"The Cork and the Fish" prompts me to send you a short story I wrote a few
months back--Lessons from a Little Master . Would be grateful if you read it
once (it's reproduced below). The story may not be quite appropriate for
publishing in the IISSM newsletter. The reason I'm sending it to you is: I
think greed or covetousness is just as big a source of crime as disparity,
discrimination and religious bigotry . The story is about a little kid who
could overcome greed almost with effortless ease.

Dear Mr Nath
Thank you for the newsletter. I enjoyed reading it. The terrorism file is
only a collection of news from the newspapers and that too it pertains to
past. It would be interesting in case we have some kind of analysis carried
out and summary of the same made available at the end of the file.
