The Board of Governors has approved New Delhi as the Venue city.
The dates are likely to synchronise with or be around the bi-annual International Security, Safety and Fire Exhibition (ISS&FE) - December 5-8, 2005 - conducted by India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), New Delhi.
The Venue of the Seminar (outside ITPO) premises is to be decided.

Disaster & Emergency Management Systems (DEMS) - managing complex risks and threat.
The New Year has brought us some good news on the professional front. Some of you may be aware of Mr. Raj Lakha, CEO, Safety Solutions (UK) Ltd, who has been an eminent faculty with the IISSM for the last few years. Apart from having developed expertise on varied aspects relating to safety solutions, Mr. Raj Lakha is an acknowledged authority on DEMS. Some relevant particulars in this regard are separately attached.
He will be in India in the second half of February, 2005. Taking advantage of that, IISSM is proposing to hold a 2-hour presentation by Mr. Raj Lakha on "Implementing Disaster & Emergency Management Systems (DEMS) - managing complex risks and threats." The aim and objectives of this presentation will be:

To provide attendees with an overview on the techniques of auditing organisations against the DEMS framework so as to both pre-empt risks and threats to the business process and also to improve the response in the event of a catastrophic failure to the system.

Learn how to develop a Major Incident Policy, Create a Resilience Culture, Understand the elements of Major Incident Planning, Conduct a Major Incident Audit & Review

Co-editor with Tony Moore of the new book on 'Disaster & Emergency Management: Principles & Practice' (Butterworths-Tolley 2002).
Has conceived and written the 15 day Specialist Diploma called 'Disaster and Emergency Management Systems '(DEMS) which is a global qualification and delivered also in SE Asia.
Has written for the 'Health & Safety at Work Handbooks 2001, 2 and 3' (Butterworths Tolley) the chapters on 'Disaster and Emergency Management Systems' and 'Training & Competence'. In addition he has written on topics ranging from Environmental Management Systems to Y2K Contingency Planning issues. He is also on the Advisory Board of the 'Health & Safety at Work Journal' of Butterworths-Tolley.
Has jointly developed the new magazine with the Daily Mail Group (DMG WorldMedia) on 'Disaster and Emergency Management'
