Dear Mr. Nath, Thank you very much for the Newsletter for the month of Aug.2003. The views expressed in the Editorial by Charles Senewald on the status of Security were appropriate and hold good not only in USA in the pre 9/11 development but very true in India even today. The mushrooming of Security agencies all over the country, some of them run by the retired Defence and Police Officers who were failures in their own Department, is one of the reasons for the bad image of the security personnel. It is high time that the Govt. of India should be impressed upon by the national security agencies that there should be some norms and standards for both the Security agencies and the persons inducted. It is also high time for our national security agencies and departments to bring professionalism into their officers and ranks.
